Hansch Financial Group was founded by August C. “Gus” Hansch, CFP® (considered to be one of the founding fathers of financial planning) and Walter R. Hansch, CLU®. These men were the uncle and father of David and John Hansch. Having grown up with a father and uncle in the business, David and John have long seen the benefits of financial planning and wealth management. During their youth, David and John started working in the back office of the family practice. After several years away at college and working with a number of firms, they joined forces to redesign the firm evolving from Hansch Brothers & Associates to Hansch Financial Group.

Today, Hansch Financial Group is a second generation financial planning practice drawing upon 60+ years of experience helping families plan and achieve their financial goals. They work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals to design comprehensive financial planning and wealth management solutions for their clients.

The Firm's Mission is to help clients achieve and maintain financial independence through their lifetimes. From the beginning, the firm has been technology-focused. Today they are a web-based wealth management firm serving families, business owners, executives, retired couples, and women throughout the country.

The goal is to help clients design a financial plan that integrates their unique Values, Goals and current Financial Reality into a financial plan that moves them from where they are today to where they want to be for the reasons important to them.

Since the early years of our firm, we have been technology-focused, developing one of the industry’s first financial planning software companies, Financial Profiles, Using advanced technology platforms to improve our clients’ experience we have migrated our practice to the web for 24/7 client access. Helping clients organize and manage their financial house has been a driving goal for our firm since its inception.

Independence

As an independent firm, we are focused first and foremost on our clients and their unique needs. Without any conflicts of interest, we have the freedom to recommend services and strategies that align with our clients’ specific needs. 

As an independent firm, we offer objective advice, researched recommendations and customized strategies. Our virtual team includes specialists in investments, insurance, taxation and estate planning. With diverse experiences, we provide a "Financial Advisory Clinic" aimed to meet the individual needs of each client. This "clinic" approach is designed to ensure more complete financial planning counsel. 

Our Fees

As an independent fee-based firm, we are open about the fees we charge and always ensure clients are aware of what they are paying. For financial planning, we charge a flat fee for developing a personalized plan with a personal financial portal to organize your financial matters (requiring a 50% retainer to begin work, and the final 50% paid upon delivery of the plan).

For investment management, we earn fees based on a percentage of the value of your accounts under our management. And finally, we are compensated by commission for insurance products and certain investments, such as 529 plans, that don’t qualify for our standard fee-based investment platforms. Tax and estate planning is billed directly by the client’s CPA or attorney.

We are committed to building close relationships with clients that span generations, serving as a trusted and reliable resource for financial guidance. We enjoy the process of solving clients’ financial puzzles and helping them pursue their retirement goals. Due to the high level of client interaction and attention we offer, we typically work with clients who have $500,000 or more of investable assets.

Credentials and Experience

We believe education is key. Whether we are continuing our own education or hosting topic-specific seminars for the public, we are passionate about education.

David Hansch is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. With the CFP® certification, David is held to the highest of standards in terms of ethics and responsibility. 

John Hansch earned his MBA in Finance and Marketing and is currently enrolled in the Retirement Income Certified Professional, RICP program.
